Furman University President Elizabeth Davis is stepping down after the 2026-2027 academic year, marking the end of a transformative presidency. The university has risen in the U.S. News & World Report national liberal arts college rankings into the mid-40s and has been consistently named a 'Most Innovative School' for eight consecutive years. Furman's Pathways Program, a unique two-year academic advising initiative, received the 2024 Advising Innovation Award from NACADA, further solidifying its reputation for academic excellence.
